Our Body's Vital Foundations
You are a remarkable creation! Just think of how many reactions and routines occur in your body in a single second. It's simply uncountable. All of this is possible because of the food you eat, the air you breathe, the water you drink and the sunlight you receive. From these elements, your body is nourished and sustained.
Once upon a time, vitality was commonplace. People were fit; cancer and autoimmune disorders were rare and many couples conceived large families. Fast forward to modern times where food products and toxins deprive the body of essential nutrients needed to maintain optimal health. Such stressors impair our vital foundations and leave us vulnerable to degenerative diseases, illness, dysfunction and infertility.
Nutritional Therapy pairs ancestral wisdom with science to guide you towards the best diet and lifestyle needed for superior health. As a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I can teach you about proper food preparation, selection and sourcing. You are a remarkable creation. Let Nutritional Therapy help restore your body's foundations and get you living life again.

Food and Medicine
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food
-Hippocrates
The famous Greek physician Hippocrates, for whom the Hippocratic Oath is named, understood the connections between health and your diet. Conventional means are not the only way to make improvements. If you'd like to address your concerns holistically contact me
Food as Medicine
Today's Dinner Plate
Today's foods are processed to increase shelf life and maximize taste. Nutrients that are natural to food when it is harvested are stripped away to prevent spoilage. While synthetic vitamins are often added back in, the body does not assimilate them as easily as in their natural state. Beneficial probiotics, enzymes and other natural components are also lost. Pasteurization, irradiation and other procedures designed to make the food safe actually damage vital protein and fatty acid structures. All of this impairs digestion and leads to inflammatory processes which degrade health and foster illness.
Yesterday's Dinner Plate
Generations ago, dietary staples contained a far greater nutrient content than what's on the dinner plates of today. Fruits and vegetables contained an abundance of minerals while meats, dairy and grains contained an ample supply of vitamins and fatty acids. Food was also prepared according to traditional methods that made the nutrients more available and beneficial to the body.

The human body is a wonderful creation of God. While today's food is convenient and quick, that doesn't mean it's healthy. It's my belief that degenerative diseases have become so prevalent because the food we eat no longer contains sufficient nutritional value. I hope to provide you with education about physiology, food sourcing, proper preparation and options for addressing dysfunction. As you read the articles on this blog, you will discover a perspective that seems really new, but is actually very old. When it comes to food, wisdom is truly timeless.
